Terms of Service

1. The agreement

These terms are a contract between SSRLabs ("MindSprout", "we") and you — the parent or guardian who creates and manages the account. Because our student users are minors, the account holder and party to this agreement is always an adult. By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials safe.
• A child's profile becomes active only after parental consent (see Privacy Policy).
• One parent account per family, which may contain multiple child profiles (your own children or wards). Each child profile carries its own plan — Free by default, upgraded individually.

3. Plans, billing, and refunds

• Prices are listed on our pricing page in INR, inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not store card details.
• New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No card is required and nothing is charged unless you pick a paid plan.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period, then the account moves to the Free plan. Your child's streaks, XP, and progress are preserved.
• Annual plans carry a 7-day no-questions refund window from purchase. Monthly plans are not refunded pro-rata.
• School licences are governed by a separate written agreement.

4. Acceptable use

• Chat is for students to study and socialise safely. Bullying, harassment, sharing personal contact information, or attempting to move conversations off-platform is not allowed and is blocked by moderation.
• The AI tutor is a learning aid. It intentionally does not provide final answers to graded work; attempting to extract them may be flagged to parents.
• You may not reverse-engineer the service, resell access, scrape content, or use the question bank commercially.

5. Safety and moderation

All chat messages pass automated moderation, and serious safety flags are reviewed by humans and notified to parents on every plan, free of charge. We may suspend profiles that repeatedly attempt to abuse or bypass safety systems, after notifying the parent.

6. Content and intellectual property

Study notes, questions, and explanations are our or our licensors' property, aligned to the NCERT syllabus. We grant your family a personal, non-transferable licence to use them within the app. Your child's own work (answers, chat messages) remains yours; you grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" — exams don't wait, so download notes ahead of important dates. We may add, change, or retire features; if a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we'll notify you and offer a pro-rata refund on request.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from settings or by emailing us. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice to the parent and a data-export window. Sections 6, 8, and the Privacy Policy survive termination.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India; courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. We'd rather fix problems than litigate — write to us first: hello@getstudybuddy.in.
